Advantages of Gypsum Ceiling Designs

Though quite expensive compared to other ceiling options, gypsum ceiling designs has a number of benefits including;

 Beautiful homes

Ceilings are one of the important elements of an interior space as they offer the maximum unobstructed view of home interior spaces. As a result, the ceiling is an important element of home interior layout and defines its aesthetics. With a gypsum designer ceiling, you can turn a boring room into a classic touch easily and without a hustle. Oh! and without forgetting the many decorative lighting fixtures available in our market.

Cool Homes

Most homes install air conditioners to maintain room temperatures especially in hot seosons. Air conditioning, however, is an energy intensive process. Designer ceilings optimize your air conditioning usage and reduce electricity bills. For instance, if your room is 12 x 12 sq. ft. and your gypsum ceiling is one foot below the actual ceiling, it will cut down 12 x 12 x 1 cubic space that would otherwise have needed to be cooled by the Air Conditioner, reducing your energy consumption drastically. What’s more, since the air-filled insulation in between the two layers of ceilings keeps the room naturally cool, you often don’t need to use the air conditioner at all!

Better Lit Homes

A Powered home inspires hope. The introduction of LED lighting technology brought two special features; the ability to use less electricity while emitting the needed brightness and the countless LED light designs available in the market. False ceiling design is the only type of ceiling that can easily accommodate LED lights both direct and indirect and the results are impressive. If you are constrained on budget, you can decide to install gypsum ceiling designs in specific rooms such as the bedrooms, living room, dining room and install other ceiling options such as PVC ceiling which is expensive in the other rooms

Mess-Free Homes

Suspended ceiling is able to conceal wiring and pipes that can interfere with room aesthetics. You can hide all the wire clutters inside the gypsum and fix access panels for repair purpose

Fire resistance

False Ceiling is an excellent fire-resistive building material. Apart from decoration, It is the most commonly used interior finish where fire resistance classifications are required. Its noncombustible core contains nearly 21% chemically combined water, which, under high heat, is slowly released as steam. Because steam will not exceed 212 degrees Fahrenheit under normal atmospheric pressure, it is very effectively retarding the transfer of heat and the spread of fire. Even after complete calcination, when all the water has been released from its core, gypsum board continues to serve as a heat-insulating barrier. Moreover, tests conducted in accordance with ASTM E 84 show that gypsum board has a low flame-spread index and a low smoke-density index. When installed in combination with other materials in laboratory-tested wall and ceiling assemblies, gypsum board serves to effectively protect building elements from fire for prescribed time periods.

Sound isolation

Preventing the transfer of unwanted sound to adjoining areas is a key consideration when designing a building. Installing gypsum will help eliminate rain sound or unnecessary noise passing through the roof. It guarantees noise-free homes if compared with other ceiling options specifically when taking into account the intended activities of the occupants in the various parts of the building. For example, a building containing office spaces adjacent to manufacturing facilities requires more noise-reducing features than are typically necessary in a building that has only office space in it.
